5/10/10 Happy Mother's Day for all those moms! I can't believe it is May already & the kids will be coming
back from college soon! It seems like it was just Christmas! I have been really busy with Mother's Day orders
so I have not given my blog a lot of attention lately. The good news is that I will be making a $50 donation to Susan
G. Komen this month due to all of my sales of my Modern Mom Pendants. Thanks everyone & have a great day!
3/6/10: We have another exciting opportunity at The Looking Glass! Please vote for us via this link: http://ktvi.cityvoter.com/contests/best-of-the-fox-2-hot-list/4759/shopping/gift-shop !! We woud love to have your support to win the #1 Gift Shop in St. Louis!
2/28/10: Well, we are moved into our new location at The Looking Glass! Please visit our new store located
at 1917 Park Avenue in Lafayette Square! We are located right next to The Chocolate Bar! I uploaded some photos
so you can get a flavor of how it looks but the photos do not do it justice. Every week, Andrea & I will be
having a different weekly special so stop by & check out our new home!
1/18/10 Happy New Year! Sorry for the delay in keeping this up. My holiday season was extremely
busy with my business but it was fun! I have some exciting news! The Looking Glass will be relocating down the
street (still in Lafayette Square) next to The Chocolate Bar! How convenient is that? We are really excited.
I will have a larger area to display my jewelry & therefor will have a larger selection of merchandise. There is
also a back yard area where we can have some great private parties! We are busy painting and cleaning
but hope to open within about two weeks. I will keep you all posted. I have to run down there today & help
pack up. Have a great day!
November 8, 2009 Hello everyone. I finally set a date for my open house! It will be Sunday, December 13th
from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. I always look forward to it to see you all! There will be plenty of food & drink!
I will also have some items from The Looking Glass for you to purchase. A portion of my sales will go to the Susan G.
Komen of St. Louis. This is short today. I
have to run up & make some more jewelry for the Fox craft show today! Have a great week!
October 30th
I uploaded some new photos taken from the photographer. I updated my personal photo & added
some new photos to my home page. I hope you all like them! I have been really busy with the craft and art shows.
I will be at Eureka on the 7th of November. I will also have some of my items at a booth at Fox High School on the 7th
& 8th. Since there is only one of me, I have asked a friend to work the Fox booth for me on Saturday & I will
be there on Sunday. I will also be having some hand made items from The Looking Glass at the Eureka show. I hope
to see you all there!
October 11th I had a photographer over to the house today to take photos of my jewelry. I decided that I need
to take my business to the next level and hire a marketing professional & a professional photographer! So, in the
upcoming weeks, you will be seeing some changes to my web site. I hope you like it! Also, please note that I plan
on rolling out the "Team Spirit" program. It will be a fund raiser for various schools. How many times
have your kids brought home the brochures or a neighbor child rings your door bell to sell you some over-priced wrapping paper
or popcorn? I am creating unique, quality jewelry at affordable prices in the school colors. If you are looking
for a way to raise money for your kid's school, boyscout trip, etc., please give me a call! I will create the colors
you prefer. Don't forget about our open house at
The Looking Glass. Andrea & I hope you all can make it! Say a prayer for nice weather too!
September 12, 2009 I hope you all can make it to the "For
Women Only Event". If you need a copy of the flyer, email me & I will send you a copy to show your
friends. Please be sure to rsvp though because they need to have enough food & drink! Maria called me
the other day & told me that she could not wait until Christmas & gave the bracelets I made to the other coaches'
wives. She said they loved them. I am hoping that they will come down to The Looking Glass to see our other
unique gifts we carry. I took pictures of some of the bracelets - you can view them on the "Team Spirit"
tab of this site. Once the pendants are given out to the players wives & girl friends, I will post a photo
of those as well. I am also planning on starting a fundraising/team spirit division for Design522. I
will let you know once it is launched. Also, if your company is looking for
a great gift to give to special clients, please give me a call. I can design an item fitting your budget
by pulling in your logo colors and creating a piece that your clients will actually be proud to wear &
think of you every time they do! Have a great weekend everyone. Tomorrow
is our 6th wedding anniversary. I can't believe Dale & I have been married for six years already! Time
flies! September 7,
2009 I hope everyone had a great holiday. I can't believe summer is
over & we are already talking about Christmas and watching pre-season football! Speaking of football...
I have told some of you about meeting Maria Spagnuolo at the Looking Glass recently. Maria is Steve
Spagnuolo's wife. For those who are not football fans, Steve is the head coach for the St. Louis Rams. Anyway,
she likes my jewelry and asked me to make bracelets for the wives of the coaches and most recently asked me to make 50
pendants for the wives and girl friends of the players. You would not believe how nice she is!
Don't forget about our open house at The Looking Glass on Saturday, October
17th. I will be sending out reminders. We plan on having desserts, snacks and beverages. We will be giving
away hourly attendance prizes and I have a special attendance prize for all past hostesses that attend.
Have a great week everyone! It will be a short one! :)

OK - this is my first entry for my new "blog". Since
starting up my own web site, I still find it is a challenge to keep up with the newer technology tools, latest ways
to communicate, share ideas, etc. I am guessing many of you who are in the "40 something" age
group, along with myself, still feel funny being a member of Face Book! I just figured out how to become friends
& add photos & now there is something new out there called "Twitter"...?? So, since many of my clients and friends are in the same
boat, I hope my new "Blog" is not out dated. And if it is,...well, I guess it is & my kids along
with the new generation can chalk it up to "that 40 something generation"! I am still passionate about my jewelry business and have recently
created some new looks. Since I began displaying my designs at The Looking Glass of Lafayette Square last December,
I have worked on new display ideas, unique earrings and now a new line of mix and match charms sets. Please check
out my new tab on this site called "charm sets". Although I purchase many of the charms, I will continue to
make additional accent charms made of crystals, gemstones, etc. AND everythin is made of STERLING SILVER.
While I understand that everyone wants to save a dollar here and there, I have found other ways to provide designs within
your budget without cutting back on quality. My charms range from $3.00 to $20.00. I also provide sterling silver
chains at $10.00 and beautiful ribbon, suede and leather cord necklaces starting at only $5.00. My main seller continues to be my Modern Pendants, including my Modern Mom
Collection. It was so much fun last Mother's Day creating the designs and then hearing the feedback from my clients
on how well they were received. I guarantee that every recipient of the Modern Pendants will 1. love them &
2. will receive complements from passers-by at the grocery store, on the air plane, etc.! I enjoy making
them because there are no two exactly alike & it is always fun to view the final product! I hope that those
of you that purchased one of my designs will allow me to share your comments on my site. Andrea & I continue to open the shop
to woman to host private parties at The Looking Glass. We really have fun hearing the comments from the guest on
how much fun they had! I don't think the hostess expects to receive so much free product and the guests are
pleasantly surprised by how reasonable our items really are! So, if you are interested in hosting a private party, please
check out the Private Parties tab for details. I will also create an invitation for you to send out to your guests prior
to the event. All you need to do is bring your food & beverage & we will serve it and clean up after your guests
are finished visiting. Many of you have asked when my next show or open house will be. Well, I am signed up for several of the
fall craft shows but also wanted you to save the date for our Open House at The Looking Glass. Andrea & I will be
hosting an Open house on Saturday, October 17th. Save the date! We also plan on having special hours for
my past hostesses who hosted a Design522 Jewelry Party and also those who have hosted a private party at The Looking
Glass. We plan on giving you all a small gift to show you how much we appreciate your past business and friendship!
More details to follow!
